CLAYPOT RICE
Claypot Rice , a Cantonese dish , is one of the favourite dinner dishes for Singaporeans. The rice is first cooked in the claypot with strong fire ,once the rice is ready, the seasoned and cooked diced chicken is added in, together with vegetables and slices of chinese sausage ,dark soya sauce is added in for flavor. The Claypot Rice is cooked for a while before it is served , traditionally till the rice at the bottom is somewhat charred and burnt.
What is a good Claypot Rice? The chicken should definitely be tender ,dark soya sauce must compliment the taste of the and most importantly, the rice close to the claypot should be burnt but not to the extent of charcoal black.
